RESOLUTION NO. 79 -16
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE HENNEPIN
COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL OPERATIONAL
BYLAWS
WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968
(PL90 -351), and acts amendatory thereto, encourages and provides for the
establishment of criminal justice coordinating councils in major urban areas
to assure improved planning for and coordination of criminal justice agencies

was established pursuant to the provisions of the Omnibus Crime Control and

WHEREAS, the current selection process for suburban representation on
the Hennepin County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council as provided for in
Article 4, Section 3 of the Bylaws is cumbersome and time consuming:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center
supports an amendment to Article 4, Section 3 of the Bylaws to allow suburban
representatives to the Council to be selected by those members of the Associa-
tion of Metropolitan Municipalities who represent suburban units of government
