HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-262 CCR Member Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78 -262 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HENNEPIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO REVISE THE COUNTY'S 5 -YEAR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM TO ACCELERATE THE IMPROVEMENT OF C.S.A.H. 130 IN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, C.S.A.H. 130 is a major east -west thoroughfare in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the present roadway is considered hazardous for the safety and general welfare of vehicular and pedestrian traffic; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Industrial Park located on the south side of C.S.A.H. 130 between Shingle Creek Parkway and Humboldt Avenue North is developing rapidly, along with the remainder of the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the recently approved Hennepin County 5 -Year Highway Construction Program includes the acquisition of right -of -way for C.S.A.H. 130 within the City of Brooklyn Center in 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Council hereby requests the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to revise the County's 5 -Year Highway Construction Program to accelerate the improvement of C.S.A.H. 130 within the City of Brooklyn Center. i BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center desires further input in said improvement relative to the degree of upgrading. November 20, 1978 Date M!?O ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
