HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-287 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78 -287 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1978 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF VOTING MACHINES WHEREAS, Section 7.11 of the City Charter does provide the City Council with full authority to make permanent transfers between all funds which may be created, provided that such transfers are not inconsistent with the provisions of relevant covenants, the provisions of the City Charter, or State Statute; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND in the amount of at least $3,500 to be transferred for GENERAL FUND use; and WHEREAS, the City Council did, on May 8, 1978, authorize the purchase of ten used voting machines from federal revenue sharing funds: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to amend the 1978 GENERAL FUND Budget by increasing the Elections and Voters Registration (Dept. #14) Capital Outlay Other Equipment Account #4552) appropriation by $3,500 to provide for the purchase of the voting machines; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriation shall be financed by federal revenue sharing funds and that funds in the FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND shall be encumbered in the amount of $3,500; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the actual transfer of funds will be made from the FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND to the GENERAL FUND on a reimbursement basis at such time, and by Council resolution when the GENERAL FUND has expended funds for the appropriation authorized.
