RESOLUTION NO. 78 -296
RESOLUTION SETTING WAGES AND SALARIES FOR THE CALENDAR
YEAR 1979
WHEREAS, Section 2.07 of the City Charter for the City of Brooklyn Center
states that the City Council is to fix the salary or wages of all officers and employees
of the City; and
WHEMAS, the City Council has considered salaries and wages for the calendar
year 1979:
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council adopts the following schedule
of positions authorized and maximum salaries and wages for the calendar year 1979:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council adopts the attached Position
Classification Plan for the calendar year 1979 which sets wage ranges and maximums
which the City Manager shall be authorized to pay in classified positions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be authorized to employ such
temporary part -time and temporary full -time employees as may be necessary, and to
establish competitive rates of pay for such help consistent with the 1979 budget
appropriations; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that authorized wage adjustments, not to exceed the
maximums contained herein, shall become effective January 1, 1979; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council in recognition that labor contract
provisions are yet being negotiated with the bargaining unit related to police officers in
the Police Department, extends 1978 wage rates for related job classifications.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka,
and Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
