RESOLUTION NO. 78 -297
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CERTAIN GROUP
HEALTH PLAN COSTS
WHEREAS h City Council, December 2 1977 adopted

Resolution No. 77 -244 authorizing payment of an amount not to exceed
$60 per month toward the cost of coverage under Brooklyn Center Group
Health Plans for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents)
who are not members of recognized bargaining units; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract effective
January 1, 1979 to pay an amount not to exceed $72 per month toward the
cost of group health and life insurance for permanent full -time employees
(and eligible dependents) who are members of Local No. 49, International
Union of Operating Engineers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract, effective
January 1 1978 to December 31, 1978, to pay a maximum of $75 per month
per employee toward health, life and long -term disability insurance for
permanent full -time employees in the police bargaining unit represented by
Teamsters Local No. 320; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends, effective with insurance
premiums due January 1, 1979, increasing the City contribution toward
group health plan costs for permanent full -time employees (and eligible
dependents) who are not recognized bargaining units:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center to authorize, effective with insurance premiums due
January 1 1979, payment of an amount not to exceed $65 per month toward
the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical
Insurance Plans as fringe benefit compensation for permanent full -time
employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized
bargaining units.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka,
and Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
