1'.ESOLUTION NO. 78 -175
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTATION FOR STREET SURFACING
(CONTRACT 1978 -L)
WHEREAS, Chapter 471.345 of the Minnesota Statutes provides
for the purchase of merchandise, materials, or equipment, or any king of
construction work by informal quotations when the amount of such contract
is less than ten thcasand dollars ($10,000); and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has obtained quotations for Contract
1978 -L which consists of Street Surfacing Improvement Project No. 1978 -27
and said quotations were as follows:
Firm Quotation
Bituminous Roadways, Inc. $9,920.00
United Asphalt CD., Inc. 9,984.00
WHEREAS, Bituminous Roadways, Inc.,.submitter of the low quotation,
has conditioned their quotation to the extent that they will not accent
Contract 1978 -K unless awarded Contract 1978 and Contract 1978 L; and
WHEREAS, United Co., Inc., submitted'a quotation for
Contract 1978 -I substantially under the quotation submitted by Bituminous
roadways, Inc
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the quotation of United Asphalt Co.,.
Inc., in the amount of $9,984.00 as to furnishing of all work, labor,
and material in connection with the above- mentioned improvement projects,
according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the
office of the City Clerk, is deemed to be the best quotation s,. #hmtted
for said work by a responsible contractor and said quotation is hereby
accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor and City Manager
to execute a contract with said contractor.

Resolution No. 78 -175
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist,
Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
