HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-179 CCR Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78 -179 RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONTINUANCE OF BENCH TRIALS AND ARRAIGNMENTS OF THE HENNEPIN COUNTY MUNICIPAL COURT IN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, since 1966 the Hennepin County Municipal Court has conducted Bench trials and arraignments within the City of Brooklyn Center, pursuant to Statute; and WHEREAS, the holding of Court within the City has provided a valuable and necessary service to the City of Brooklyn Center and its citizens; and WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board has approved plans for a County Government facility located within the City of Brooklyn Center, which contains space for a Courtroom and related activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Y of Brook Center Minnesota as follows: 1 Pursuant to MSA 488 A. 01 Subdivision 9, the City of Brooklyn Center elects to continue the holding of Bench trials and arraignments in the City Hall of the City of Brooklyn Center until such time as adequate Court facilities are provided within the City of Brooklyn Center by the County of Hennepin for such Bench trials and arraignments. 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Hennepin County Board for receipt not later than August 30, 1978.
