HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-088 CCR Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78 -88 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota through Hennepin County has provided financial subsidies to encourage employers to participate in an Employee Assistance Program; and WHEREAS, such a program is intended to assist individual employees with a broad range of human relations problems such as alcoholism, drug dependency, emotional problems, financial problems, and other similar personal problems; and WHEREAS, the program is based on the premise that such problems can adversely affect an employee's ability to function effectively on the job; and WHEREAS, through the program an employee can obtain initial diagnostic services at no charge without concern that participation will jeopardize the employee's job security, promotional opportunities nor reputation; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has participated in the Employee Assistance Program since July 1, 1977 and wishes to continue this program: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize Brooklyn Center's continued participation in the Employee Assistance Program through June 30, 1979 at a cost not to exceed 650 during that period. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the costs for the Employee Assistance Program be charged to the Council Professional Services appropr'ation. May 8, 1978 Date Ma zz- ATTEST: w Jerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka and Celia Scott and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
