and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 78 -92
RESOLUTION COMMENDING BROOKLYN CENTER HIGH
SCHOOL OFFICE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION CHAPTER
WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center High School Office Education
Association has been named Chapter of the Year in national competition
among some 4,000 students from twenty -one states; and
WHEREAS, this award has brought recognition to the City; and
WHEREAS, the success of the Chapter contributes substantially
to the pride and cohesiveness of the community; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of this group merits the gratitude
and recognition of the citizens of Brooklyn Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center that:
The Brooklyn Center High School Office Education Association
Chapter and their advisor Dick Lawrence are recognized and
commended for winning the Office Education Association Chapter
of the Year Award in national competition.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member Gene Lhotka and upon vote being taken thereon,
the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill
Fignar, Gene Lhotka and Celia Scott;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
