HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-029 CCR Member Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78 -29 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1978 GENERAL FUND BUDGET WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated $9,815 in the 1977 General Fund Budget for the purpose of purchasing microfilming equipment necessary 'to implement the City government records microfilming program; and WHEREAS, because of the recent availability of LOGIS Computer Output Microfilm (COM) which added a new dimension to the microfilming planning, the planning phase of the program was not completed during 1977; and WHEREAS, since the planning phase was not completed it was not possible to purchase relevant equipment prior to the expiration of the 1977 Budget; and WHEREAS, a balance of $9,353 remains unexpended from the appropriation; and WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter authorizes the City Council to appropriate funds from unappropriated surplus in an amount equal to a previous appropriation if not, in fact, expended or encumbered for that purpose in the previous fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by •the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to amend the 1978 General Fund Budget to increase the City Manager's Office (Dept. No. 13) Office Furnishings and Equipment Appropriation (Object No. 4551) by $9,353 to provide for the balance of microfilm equipment to be purchased; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sa d appropriation be funded from unappro- priated surplus. r February 13 1978 Date Mayor ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken 'thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, Gene Lhotka, and Celia Scott; and the following voted against •the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
