moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 77 -221
RESOLUTION REQUESTING EXTENSION OF TIME FOR SUBMISSION
OF METROPOLITAN LAND PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City is entitled to planning assistance grant funds under
the 1976 Metropolitan Land Planning Act (M. S .A 473.851 473.872); and
WHEREAS, the application to the Metropolitan Council for said funds
is to be submitted within 120 days from the date the Metropolitan System State
ment was received, said period ending November 2, 1977; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Metropolitan Council System Statement
Reconciliation Procedures and to City Council Resolution Nos. 77 -161 and
77 -165, the City initiated a 60 day reconciliation period effective August 29, 1977;
and
WHEREAS, City efforts have been directed in that time to the resolution
of the matters specified in the reconciliation request; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to apply for the Planning Assistance Grant
Entitlement; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Planning Assistance Guidelines,
adopted April 28, 1977, at Section VI.G, provide for an extension of the grant
application period:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center to request an extension, up to 60 days, of the period for
submitting a Metropolitan Land Planning A ce rant Appl'ca 'on.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Bill Fignar, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar,
and Gene Lhotka;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
