HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-169 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 77 -169 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION OF AND APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PUBLIC EFFORTS OF THE T.H. 169 PETITIONERS WHEREAS, the City Council on September 12, 1977 received a petition signed by approximately 1 ,190 persons regarding the need for various traffic semaphores along T.H. 169; and WHEREAS, the petition specifically requests the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to act on behalf of the petitioners and to cooperate with any other governmental body to bring about the installation of three traffic semaphores at pedestrian crossings on T.H. 169 at 66th, 69th, and 73rd Avenues North; and WHEREAS, the petition carriers and petition signers have, by their actions, demonstrated their support and concern for the resolution of a long- standing and disturbing traffic problem; and WHEREAS, this civic effort for the betterment of the community merits the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the efforts and expressions of the T.H. 169 petition carriers and petition signers are recognized and appreciated by the City of Brooklyn Center. September 19, 1977 Date Mayor ATTEST y Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Gene Lhotka; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
