HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-149 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -149 RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR THE REMODELING OF THE CITY OWNED STRUCTURE AT 7100 BROOKLYN BOULEVARD; TO APPROVE EXPENDITURES FOR INDIVIDUAL WORK TASKS; AND TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND TO THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND WHEREAS, the City Council, on October 4, 1976, did authorize a joint powers agreement with the City of Brooklyn Park which provided for the renovating and refurbishing of the City owned structure at 7100 Brooklyn Boulevard so that said structure could be used by the Community Emergency Assistance Program, Inc. (CEAP) to provide emergency services for the residents of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has provided the City Council with a written estimate of the cost of said renovation and refurbishing which sets out individual work tasks in detail; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the project is $39,000; and WHEREAS, the anticipated source of financing the project is as follows: City of Brooklyn Center $17,000 City of Brooklyn Park 17,000 Federal Bicentennial Grant 4,000 Brooklyn Center Jaycees 1,000 $39,000; and WHEREAS, the Capital Projects Fund was established to finance major capital outlays; and WHEREAS, Section 7.11 of the City Charter does provide the City Council with full authority to make permanent transfers between all funds which may be created, provided that such transfers are not inconsistent with the provisions of related covenants, the provisions of the City Charter, or State Statute; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund to finance the City's share of the renovation project and the project meets guidelines established by the City Council for the use of Federal Revenue Sharing funds: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -149 BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to appropriate the amount of $38, 000 in the Capital Projects Fund for the renovation and refurbishing of the City owned structure at 7100 Brooklyn Boulevard; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the source of financing the sum appropriated shall be: Federal Revenue Sharing Funds $17,000 Reimbursement From the City of Brooklyn Park 17,000 Federal Bicentennial Grant 4,000 $38,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the expenditures for individual work tasks as set forth in the City Manager's written estimate of the cost of renovation and refurbishing be authorized; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to transfer the amount of $17,000 from the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund to the Capital Projects Fund. October 18, 1976 Date Mayor Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
