and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 76 -152
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING VOTING PRECINCTS FOR THE
CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is presently constituted
into eight voting precincts described by Resolution No. 72 -105,
adopted by the City Council on July 10, 1972; and
WHEREAS, a federal census was conducted for the year 1970
which indicated among other things the population distribution within
the City of Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, the Federal District Court in June 1972, developed
a new reapportionment plan placing portions of Brooklyn Center into
two legislative districts; and
WHEREAS, the 1976 Minnesota State Legislature enacted Chapter
132 which among other things requires voting precinct boundaries to
follow clearly recognizable physical features; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the factors of
population distribution, legislative district lines, community
neighborhoods, and clearly recognizable physical features for voter
precincts boundaries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. To rescind Resolution No. 72 -105 establishing voting
precincts for the City of Brooklyn Center adopted by
the City Council on July 10, 1972.
2. In lieu thereof, there shall be established voting
precincts in the City of Brooklyn Center, each precinct
to be numbered and described as follows:
Precinct One:
Bounded on the south by the south City limits; on the
west by Shingle Creek; on the north by the centerline
of County Road 10 to the centerline intersection of
T.H. 100 and 57th Avenue North, thence easterly along
the centerline of 57th Avenue North to the intersection
of the centerline of Logan Avenue North, thence northerly
along the centerline of Logan Avenue North to the center-
line of 58th Avenue North, thence easterly along the
centerline of 58th Avenue North extended to the Mississippi
River; on the east by the Mississippi River.

Precinct Two:
Bounded on the east by the Mississippi River; on the
south by the centerline of 58th Avenue North extended
to the centerline of Logan Avenue North, thence
southerly along the centerline of Logan Avenue North
to the centerline of 57th Avenue North (also known as
County Road No. 57), thence westerly along the center-
line of 57th Avenue North to the intersection of Trunk
Highway No. 100 and County Road No. 10, thence westerly
along the centerline of County Road No. 10 to the
centerline of Shingle Creek; on the west by the centerline
of Shingle Creek northerly to its intersection with the
centerline of F.A.I. 94; thence westerly along the
centerline of F.A.I. 94 to the intersection of the
centerline of Xerxes Avenue North, thence northerly
along the centerline of Xerxes Avenue North to the
intersection of the centerline of Shingle Creek Parkway,
thence northwesterly along the centerline of Shingle
Creek Parkway to the centerline of 69th Avenue North
(also known as County Road No. 130); on the north by the
centerline of 69th Avenue North easterly to intersection
of centerline of Dupont Avenue North, thence southerly
along the centerline of Dupont Avenue North to intersection
of centerline 65th Avenue North, thence easterly along
the centerline of 65th Avenue North to intersection of
the centerline of Bryant Avenue North and 66th Avenue
North, thence northeasterly along the centerline of 66th
Avenue North to intersection of centerline of Camden
Avenue North, thence southerly along the centerline of
Camden Avenue North to intersection of centerline of
65th Avenue North, thence easterly along the centerline
of 65th Avenue North extended to the east City limits.
Precinct Three:
Bounded on the east by the Mississippi River; on the
north by the north City limits; on the west by the
centerline of West Palmer Lake Drive southerly to 69th
Avenue North (also known as County Road No. 130); on
the south by the centerline of 69th Avenue North easterly
to intersection of centerline of Dupont Avenue North,
thence southerly along the centerline of Dupont Avenue
North to intersection of centerline of 65th Avenue
North, thence easterly along the centerline of 65th
Avenue North to intersection of Bryant Avenue North and
66th Avenue North, thence northeasterly along the center-
line of 66th Avenue North to intersection of centerline
of Camden Avenue North, thence southerly along the center
line of Camden Avenue North to centerline of 65th Avenue
North, thence easterly along the centerline of 65th Avenue
North extended to the east City limits.

Precinct Four:
Bounded on the east by the centerline of West Palmer
Lake Drive; on the south by the centerline of 69th
Avenue North (also known as County Road No. 130) to
intersection of centerline of Brooklyn Boulevard,
thence southeasterly along the centerline of Brooklyn
Boulevard to centerline of F.A.I. 94, thence westerly
along the centerline of F.A.I. 94 to west City limits;
on the west by the west City limits; on the north by
the north City limits.
Precinct Five:
Bounded on the north by the centerline of F.A.I. 94
to the centerline of Brooklyn Boulevard; on the east
by the centerline of Brooklyn Boulevard; on the south
by the centerline of 63rd Avenue North; on the west
by the west City limits.
Precinct Six:
Bounded on the east by the centerline of Shingle Creek
to centerline of F.A.I. 94, thence westerly along the
centerline of F.A.I. 94 to intersection of centerline
of Xerxes Avenue North, thence northerly along the
centerline of Xerxes Avenue North to intersection of
centerline of Shingle Creek Parkway, thence north-
westerly along the centerline of Shingle Creek Parkway
to centerline of 69th Avenue North (also known as
County Road No. 130); on the north by the centerline
of 69th Avenue North (also known as County Road No.
130); on the west by the centerline of Brooklyn
Boulevard; on the south by the centerline of County
Road No. 10.
Precinct Seven:
Bounded on the north by the centerline of 63rd Avenue
North; on the east by Brooklyn Boulevard; on the south
by County Road No. 10; on the west by the west City
limits.
Precinct Eiqht:
Bounded on the north by County Road No. 10; on the east
by Shingle Creek; on the south by the south City limits;
on the west by the west City limits.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon voten being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen,
Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
