HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-172 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -172 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CERTAIN HOSPITAL MEDICAL INSURANCE COSTS WHEREAS, the City Council on December 22, 1975 adopted Resolution No. 75 -246 authorizing payment of an amount not 'to exceed $40 per month 'toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital- Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full-time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargaining units; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract effective January 1, 1975 to continue paying an amount not 'to exceed $27 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital- Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full-time employees (and eligible dependents) who are members of Local No. 49, International Union of Operating Engineers; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract effective January 1, 1976 through December 31, 1976 to pay a maximum of $60 per month per employee toward health, life and long term disability insurance and effective January 1, 1977 to December 31, 1977 to pay a maximum of $65 per month per employee toward health, life and long term disability insurance for permanent full- 'time employees in the police bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local No. 320; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends increasing effective January 1, 1977 'the City contribution toward the cost of health insurance premiums for permanent full- 'time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargain- ing units: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center 'to authorize effective January 1, 1977 payment of an amount not 'to exceed $50 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plans as fringe benefit compensation for permanent full —time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not membe s of recognized bargaining unit s December 6, 1976 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk-"' The The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen and upon vote being 'taken 'thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
