HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-071 CCR k Member Robert Jensen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -71 RESOLUTION AMENDING INITIATIVE PETITION ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO THE BROOKLYN CENTER FIRE DEPARTMENT FILED BY WILLIAM D. HANNAY, GEORGE M. HEENAN, JAMES R. VAUGHN. VINCENT D. TUBMAN, AND MARLENE K. FORSTROM WHEREAS, Section 5.06 of the City Charter provides that the City Council may amend and pass an Initiative Petition Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the interests of the citizens of Brooklyn Center will best be served by certain amendments to the Initiative Petition Ordinance above captioned: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the above captioned Initiative Petition Ordinance be amended as set forth in the attached compromise ordinance drafted by Counsel for the Fire Department and the City of Brooklyn Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a first reading of said Initiative Petition Ordinance, as amended herein, be declared; that the City Manager be directed to publish said Amended Ordinance in the official newspaper forthwith; and that the said ordinance as amended be placed on the agenda of the City Council on the 28th day of June, 1976, for final passage.
