HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-072 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -72 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE RAZING AND REMOVAL OF DILAPIDATED BUILDING ON THE NORTH 75 FEET OF THE SOUTH 150 FEET OF LOT 14, GOULD'S RIVERVIEW ADDITION, HENNEPIN COUNTY. STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, Fred Peterson is the owner of property legally described as the North 75 feet of the South 150 feet of Lot 14, Gould's Riverview Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota, located in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, Willis Dahn, Building Inspector for the City of Brooklyn Center has inspected said building and has determined that said building was extensively damaged by fire on January 16, 1976, which fire has severely damaged the interior walls of the building, severely weakened the floor and joists, severely damaged the roof and supporting beams, and caused such damage to the interior walls and floors so as to have made the building unsafe; and WHEREAS, Willis Dahn, Building Inspector for the City of Brooklyn Center has formed the opinion that said building is in a complete state of deterioration and dilapidation and cannot be brought up to building code stan- dards; and WHEREAS, Fred Peterson, upon due notice of the hazardous nature of said building, has refused to raze and remove said building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Fred Peterson, his heirs and assigns, shall be ordered to raze and remove the dilapidated building on the property legally described as the North 75 feet of the South 150 feet of Lot 14, Gould' s Riverview Addition, Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, said action being taken pursuant to Chapter 463 of the Minnesota Statutes on the grounds that said building, extensively damaged by fire, is a hazardous building constituting a hazard to the public safety and health within the mean- ing of Minnesota Statutes Section 463.15; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Fred Peterson, his heirs and assigns must either comply with this order within twenty (20) days from the date of service thereof upon him or within twenty (20) days therefrom file an Answer thereto or a Motion for Summary Enforcement of this Order will be taken by the City of Brooklyn Centern_. he Hennepi County District Court.
