HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-084 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION NO. 76 -84 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BACKUP FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $750 FOR THE BROOKLYN CENTER BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION WHEREAS, Chapter 411, Minnesota Session Laws 1975, permits govern- mental units to contribute money to any duly approved Bicentennial group to be used solely for projects which accomplish a public purpose; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Bicentennial Commission is a duly approved Bicentennial group; and WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Commission has planned various Bicentennial projects for the upcoming months, intended to be financed through sponsorships and the sale of mementos; and WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Commission is in need of backup funds in an amount not to exceed $750 to assure that these various planned Bicentennial projects may be realized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize expenditure of up to $750 from Council's Professional Services budget account to assure the realization of planned Bicentennial projects as authorized by Chapter 411 of Minn s' n Laws, 197-5. Tune 28. 1976 Date Mayor N ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
