HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-090 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -90 RESOLUTION REGARDING CONSUMER COMMUNICATIONS REFORM ACT OF 1976 WHEREAS, the Federal Communications Commission has promulgated rules and regulations which could adversely affect the overall costs of telephone service in Minnesota to the detriment of Minnesota consumers; and WHEREAS, 'the Consumer Communications Reform Act of 1976 calls upon Congress to exercise its prerogatives 'to study and enunciate the tele- communications policy of this nation: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center supports the Minnesota Congressional delegation in advocating the Consumer Communications Reform Act of 1976, which calls for Congressional review of telecommunications policy and continuation of the philosophy that telephone service should be readily available to citizens at reasonable rates. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED copies of his resolution be forwarded to members of the Minnesota CongressiZZM Tune 28, 1976 Date Mayor ATTEST: C1eY'�c The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
