HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-095 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 76 -95 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO INSTALL PROTECTIVE FENCING ON THE BRIDGE RAILINGS AT XERXES AVENUE NORTH OVER F.I.94 AND COUNTY ROAD NO. 10 OVER TRUNK HIGHWAY NO. 100 WHEREAS, pedestrian crossings, with no protective fencing, exist at the following locations: 1) Xerxes Avenue North over F.I. 94; 2) County Road No. 10 over Highway No. 100. WHEREAS, said crossing locations are major pedestrian routes to the Brooklyn Center Community Center and the Brookdale Shopping Center; and WHEREAS, pedestrian crossings without protective fencing,are hazardous to youngsters using said crossings and to traffic on highways below said crossings; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center deems it necessary for the health, safety, and general welfare of pedestrian and vehicular traffic to provide protective fencing on the bridge railings of said bridges. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, that the Minnesota State Highway Department is requested to install protective screening on the bridge railings at the following locations: 1) Xerxes Avenue North over F.I. 94; 2) County Road No. 10 over T.H. 100. July 12. 1976 Date Mayor G ATTEST: Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 76 -95 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. f
