moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 76 -27
RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTINUED JOINT REPRESENTATION
IN BARGAINING WITH I. U. 0 E. LOCAL NO. 49
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is being represented in negotiations
with I.U.O.E., Local No. 49 by the Metropolitan Area Management Association
Bargaining Committee; and
WHEREAS, I U O E Local No. 49 has requested and was granted
mediation services regarding 1976 contract negotiations; and
WHEREAS, I U .O E Local No. 49 has petitioned the Bureau of Mediation
Services to certify that an impasse exists; and
WHEREAS, under Minnesota Statutes 179. 69, Subdivision 5 the decision of
whether to submit to binding arbitration is optional with respect to organized, non
essential employees; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that employees represented by I.U.O.E.,
Local No. 49 are classified as non essential.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the Metropolitan Area Mangement Association Bargaining
Committee is hereby authorized to continue representing the City of Brooklyn
Center in negotiations with I U .O E Local No. 49 and further directs the
Management Bargaining Committee not to submit the issue to binding arbitration.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to direct that a copy of this resolution be filed
in the office of the City Manager, W 1 La Mi sot

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by member
Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar,
and Robert Jensen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
