RESOLUTION NO. 76 -52 RESOLUTION REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN A SUBURBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION WHEREAS, Minneapolis and Hennepin County elected officials have presented legislative programs to the Minnesota Legislature; and WHEREAS, many of the items contained in these programs have the effect of causing suburban communities to absorb additional tax burdens; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of all Hennepin County suburban communities to present a united front to insure that the interests of suburban communities are strongly advocated; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of suburban communities to closely monitor and respond to Hennepin County government operations and legislative proposals: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. To support the concept of a proposed Suburban Hennepin County Municipal Organization subject to the following provisions: a That Hennepin County government operations and legislative proposals be monitored and responded to. b. That since membership fees are proposed on a per capita basis, a proportional voting mechanism based on population be established. c. That more information relative 'to the funding of and the need for afull -time 'ng aff be provided. March 22, 1976 s'�' Date Mayor ATTEST: L Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Maurice Britts and upon vote being 'taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
