HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-023 CCR Member Maurice Brills introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -23 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITIZENS BICENTENNIAL PROGRAMS COMMISSION WHEREAS, a group of interested citizens has expressed a desire to designate Brooklyn Center a bicentennial community; and WHEREAS, they have also expressed an interest in participating in, planning for and organizing a bicentennial program for the City; and WHEREAS, a citizens commission is needed to organize and plan these programs: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that an independent Citizens Bicentennial Program Commission, representing all interested segments of the community, be established for the purposes of organizing, planning and coordinating bicentennial activities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this commission be appointed by the Mayor with consent of the City Council. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this commission periodically report to the City Council on the progress of the bicentennial program. f January 20, 1975. Date Mayor ATTEST Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. i
