HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-024 CCR Member Robert Jensen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -24 RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING SUPPORT OF AND PARTICIPATION IN THE BROOKLYN CENTER BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION WHEREAS, our nation is approaching the bicentennial of its birth and the historical events preceding and associated with the American Revolution are of major significance in the development of our national heritage and our American society; and WHEREAS, our national heritage is the legacy of all American people in every community, large or small, each wanting to participate in and help develop this national spirit; and WHEREAS, the City Council has formally established a Citizen Bicentennial Commission to organize programs and activities for the Bicentennial celebration: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center hereby requests that all civic, social and public organizations help develop and actively support the Brooklyn Center Bicentennial Commission in the planning of the appropriate observances. January 20, 1975 Date Mayor s ATTEST: U Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Maurice Britts, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
