HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-031 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -31 RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 71 -15 RELATIVE TO AUTHORIZED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS AND OPERATION IN CERTAIN PARKS WHEREAS, Resolution No. 71 -15 permits the operation of snow- mobiles in the following areas: 1) In Central Park (excluding Garden City Park); 2) In the Palmer Lake Park Basin on Trails #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7, as described and set forth on a map on file in the office of the City Engineer, and as marked in the field; and 3) Within Shingle Creek and the contiguous City -owned space between the Palmer Lake Park Basin and County Road 10; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that snowmobiling operations be confined to areas approximately 100 yards or more from residential homes; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Snowmobile Patrol has requested the trail system to be extended along the northerly boundary of said Palmer Lake Park Basin to connect said Trails #1 5; and WHEREAS, the City Council is in the process of enacting an ordinance prohibiting the operation of snowmobiles on municipal streets effective May 1, 1975; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that Resolution No. 71 -15 be amended to permit snowmobile operation in the following areas: 1) In Central Park (excluding Garden City Park, the City Hall Complex, and an area within 100 yards of the prop- erties located on the east side of Brooklyn Drive; 2) In the Palmer Lake Park Basin on original Trails #1, 2 3, and amended Trails #4, 5, 6 7, as described and set forth on a map dated January 20, 1975, on file in the office of the City Engineer, and as marked in the field; and 3) Within Shingle Creek and the contiguous City -owned space between the Palmer Lake Park Basin and the south line of Central Park. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that said Trails #2, 3, 6 7, and that part of Central Park lying southerly of Garden City Park, be deleted from the authorized trail system effective May 1, 1975.
