HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-034 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -34 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT OF LABOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL NO. 49 AFL -CIO AND THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, Resolution No. 74 -61 authorized the execution of a labor agreement between the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 49 AFL -CIO and the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, this agreement outlines conditions of employment; and WHEREAS, the City Council is amending Chapter 17 of the City Ordinances to limit benefits to those employees covered by formal labor agreement to those benefits expressly stated in that agreement; and WHEREAS, by amending Chapter 17 a $5,000 life insurance provision applicable to members of Local No. 49 who are employees of the City of Brooklyn Center was nullified; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to continue the practice of providing $5,000 life insurance to those employees: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize that the contractual agreement with Local No. 49 of the Inter- national Union of Operating Engineers AFL -CIO and the City of Brooklyn Center authorized by Resolution No. 74 -61 be amended to include a life insurance addendum indicating that retroactively from January 1, 1974 through December 31, 1975, the employer shall obtain and pay for premium cost for an employee $5,000 life and dismemberment insurance policy.
