HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-042 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -42 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING POLICE SELECTION STANDARDS STUDY WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Management Association is an organization of executive administrators in the public sector; and WHEREAS, members of the Metropolitan Area Management Association have determined that there is a need for improved police recruitment and selection procedures within the Twin Cities suburban metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, this need for improved police recruitment and selection procedures must be formalized in an extensive research study involving various suburban municipalities to validate the selection standards and to implement the research study; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Management Association has determined to recommend to its membership that for purposes of convenience and consolidating the Metropolitan Council be requested to act as the sponsoring agency for a federal grant to finance a research study on behalf of metropolitan suburban municipalities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center does hereby endorse and support the police selection standards project of the Metropolitan Area Management Association and does further endorse the concept of the Metropolitan Council's sponsorship of a federal grant application on behalf of the Metropolitan Area Management Association for the purpose of implementing the necessary study and research to develop improved and valid police recruitment and selection procedures. February 10, 1975 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
