HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-051 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -51 RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR, AND URGING EXPEDITIOUS CONSTRUCTION OF, A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT THE JUNCTION OF T.H. 152 OVER T.H. 100 WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Highways has prepared preliminary plans for the improvement of a part of T.H. 212, renumbered as T.H. 100, within the corporate limits of the City of Brooklyn Center, for a ped- estrian bridge at the junction of T.H. 152 over T.H. 100; and WHEREAS, said preliminary plans are on file in the office of the Department of Highways, St. Paul, Minnesota, being marked, labeled, and identified as "Layout No. 1, S.P. 2755 -55 (100 =212), Pedestrian Bridge at junction of T.H. 152 over T.H. 100 and WHEREAS, copies of said preliminary plans as so marked, labeled, and identified, are also on file in the office of the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the term "said preliminary plans" as hereinafter used in the body of this resolution shall be deemed and intended to mean, refer to, and to incorporate the preliminary plans as in the foregoing recitals particularly identified and described; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has expressed continuing concern for a pedestrian crossing at the junction of T.H. 152 over T.H. 100; and WHEREAS, with the construction of sidewalk leading to said ped- estrian crossing, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center deems it necessary for the health, safety, and general welfare of its pedes- trians to provide for a safe pedestrian crossing at said location as soon as possible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that said preliminary plans for the improvement of T.H. 212, renumbered T.H. 100, within the limits of the City of Brooklyn Center for the construction of a pedestrian bridge at the junction of T.H. 152 over T.H. 100 be and hereby are approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to urge that the construction 91f said pedestrian bridge be expeditiously effe February 24, 1975 Date_ Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
