HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-071 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -7] RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONCEPT EMBODIED IN H.F. 679 AND S.F. 625 RELATING TO PISTOL REGULATION WHEREAS, over the years the weight of evidence appears to be balanced toward the need to regulate the transfer, possession and carrying, sale and purchase of pistols in an effort to reduce the carnage caused in part by the proliferation of pistols; and WHEREAS, polls of the opinions of Minnesota citizens reflect that a majority of such citizens favor such regulation of pistols: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1 To support the concept of state -wide pistol regulations as generally expressed in H.F. 679 and S.F. 625. 2. To direct that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, members of the State Legislature representing Brooklyn Center, and to members of legislative committees hearing testimony on pistol regulation proposals. April 7, 1975 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Maurice Britts and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, abstaining: Tony Kuefler; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
