HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-216 CCR Member Maurice Brills introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -216 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CERTAIN HOSPITAL MEDICAL INSURANCE COSTS WHEREAS, the City Council on April 23, 1973 adopted Resolution No. 73 -65 authorizing payment of an amount not to exceed $12 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargaining units; and WHEREAS, on June 17, 1974 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 74 -94 authorizing payment of an amount not to exceed $22 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargaining units; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract effective January 1, 1975 to pay an amount not to exceed $27 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are members of Local #49, International Union of Operating Engineers; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed by labor contract effective January 1, 1975 to pay the cost of employee coverage (estimate $15.60) plus an amount not to exceed $20 per month for dependent coverage under the Brooklyn Center Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plan for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are members of the bargaining unit represented by the Brooklyn Center Police Association; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends increase, effective January 1, 1975, in the City contribution toward the cost of Group Hospital Medical Insurance premiums for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargaining units. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize effective January 1, 1975 payment of an amount not to exceed $30 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Cerier Group Hospital Medical Insurance Plan as fringe benefit compensation for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized bargaining units.
