HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-106 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -106 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FORM (STREET AND ALLEY PAVING CONTRACT 1975 -A) WHEREAS, the City Clerk and the City Engineer have reported that on June 2, 1975, at 11:00 o'clock A.M., central daylight time, they opened and tabulated bids received for Contract 1975 -A, includ- ing Street Grading, Base Surfacing Improvement Projects No. 1974 -16 1974 -35; and Alley Paving Improvement Projects No. 1974 -20, 1975 -1, 1975 -2, 1975 -3 1975 -4; and WHEREAS, the City reserved the right to delete Alley Paving Improvement Project No. 1974 -20 from said contract if the public hearing was not favorable for said project, and to award a contract for work included under the remaining projects; and WHEREAS, on June 2, 1975, the City Council tabled action on the public hearing for said project, thereby requiring the deletion of said project from said contract; and WHEREAS, the said bids for Street Grading, Base Surfacing Improvement Projects No. 1974 -16 35; and Alley Paving Improvement Projects No. 1975 -1, 2, 3 4 were as follows: Contractor Alternate "A" Alternate "B" 1) C. S. McCrossan, Inc. $68,365.50 $71,620.00 2).Bury Carlson, Inc. $68,677.50 $74,236.20 3) Dunkley Surfacing Co., Inc. $70,058.75 $77,201.25 4) Alexander Construction Co. $71,005.50 $76,797.70 5) Hardrives, Inc. $78,895.52 $83,487.02 and WHEREAS, it,has been determined by the Director of Public Works to the satisfaction of the City Council that the bid of C. S. McCrossan, Inc., using deep strength asphalt under Alternate "B" is the best bid submitted; and WHEREAS, Section 7 -H of the Contract General Conditions allows for additions or deletions amounting to 25% of the total contract bid amount without affecting the unit prices bid for said contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -106 1) That the bid of C. S. McCrossan, Inc., in the amount of $71,620.00, as to furnishing of all work, labor, and material in connection with Street Grading, Base Surfacing Improvement Projects No. 1974- 16 and Alley Paving Improvement Projects No. 1975- 1,2,3 &4 included in Contract 1975 -A, according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the office of the City Clerk, is deemed to be the best bid sub- mitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted. 2) To authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract with C. S. McCrossan, Inc., for said amount. 3) The City reserves the right to add Alley Paving Improve- ment Project No. 1974 -20 to said contract within thirty (30) days of award of contract, in accordance with Section 7 -H of the Contract General Conditions, without affecting the unit prices bid for said contract. June 2, 1975 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Maurice Britts and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor,thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
