Call to order: 7 p.m. In attendance: Roxana Benjamin Julie Doth Linda Smith Terri Swanson, communications coordinator Absent: Dawn Sommers (maternity leave) • Alex Alexander Member Update: Swanson stated that one person to date had applied for the task force and that the mayor wanted to keep the deadline open since he was expecting a few more people with whom he spoke with to apply. City Video Presentation: The committee reviewed the new city promotional video and commented that they liked it. Member Smith asked how the video would be used. Swanson explained that realtors would lend the video out to potential residents to help promote the city. Each real estate office will receive one complimentary tape during realtor day. Extra tapes would be sold at cost to interested persons. Update on Realtors Day: Swanson then sought input on her realtor's day presentation. Members suggested that she provide realtors with price information, order forms etc. They suggested that orders be taken right at the seminar. The committee then discussed the information that would be included in the literature 10 packets. Swanson explained that new resident information will be included in each packet including a letter from the mayor, list of phone numbers, city demographics, school • information, parks and trails information etc. The city will be distributing a new kit to every person who comes to the city to homestead. The city will also give these kits to apartment managers to pass along to new tenants. In addition to serving as a new resident information packet, the packets will also be given to potential residents or businesses. Information in these packets will be altered somewhat based on the recipient's particular need. Inserts in the package will be customized as needed. Customer Service/Employee Shopper Program: The committee discussed the implementation of a shopper program this summer and confirmed that they wanted to proceed with this. Member Benjamin inquired about the results of the community center survey. Swanson explained that staff has not had the time to tally the results. Benjamin suggested that the task force have a special meeting to review the surveys before establishing its own program. Swanson suggested Karla Wickre be invited to the meeting since she has already tabulated some of the surveys. The meeting was set for April 26 at City Hall.
