Member Update:
Swanson stated that one person to date had applied for the task force and that the mayor
wanted to keep the deadline open since he was expecting a few more people with whom he
spoke with to apply.
City Video Presentation:
The committee reviewed the new city promotional video and commented that they liked it.
Member Smith asked how the video would be used. Swanson explained that realtors would
lend the video out to potential residents to help promote the city. Each real estate office will
receive one complimentary tape during realtor day. Extra tapes would be sold at cost to
interested persons.
Update on Realtors Day:
Swanson then sought input on her realtor's day presentation. Members suggested that she
provide realtors with price information, order forms etc. They suggested that orders be taken
right at the seminar.
The committee then discussed the information that would be included in the literature
10 packets. Swanson explained that new resident information will be included in each packet
including a letter from the mayor, list of phone numbers, city demographics, school
• information, parks and trails information etc. The city will be distributing a new kit to every
person who comes to the city to homestead. The city will also give these kits to apartment
managers to pass along to new tenants.
In addition to serving as a new resident information packet, the packets will also be given to
potential residents or businesses. Information in these packets will be altered somewhat
based on the recipient's particular need. Inserts in the package will be customized as
needed.
Customer Service/Employee Shopper Program:
The committee discussed the implementation of a shopper program this summer and
confirmed that they wanted to proceed with this. Member Benjamin inquired about the results
of the community center survey. Swanson explained that staff has not had the time to tally
the results. Benjamin suggested that the task force have a special meeting to review the
surveys before establishing its own program. Swanson suggested Karla Wickre be invited to
the meeting since she has already tabulated some of the surveys. The meeting was set for
April 26 at City Hall.
