HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-231 CCR Member Robert Jensen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 75 -231 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE WHEREAS, the Public Employment Labor Relations Act of 1971 (as amended) requires public employers to meet and negotiate with public employees in an appropriate bargaining unit and to enter into written agreements resulting from such bargaining; and WHEREAS, the Act further mandates a variety of activities and requirements to be engaged in and complied with by the public employer; and WHEREAS, it has been found desirable and effective and consistent with the City Charter that the City Manager represent the policies and position of the employer City of Brooklyn Center in its relationship with employees: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to formally designate and declare the City Manager as its exclusive Brooklyn Center employer representative in all matters pertaining to employee employer relationships in general and particularly those relationships covered by the Public Employment Labor Relations Act of 1971 (as amended) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any violation of or failure by employee representatives to observe this designation of responsibility shall be deemed an unfair practice and addressed accordingly: December 8, 1975 Date Mayor r ATTEST: C lerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
