HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-149 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -149 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES, FEES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF AND CONNECTION TO THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, a municipal Public Utilities Division exists for the purpose of providing and maintaining water and sanitary sewer facilities for the citizens of the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the City Charter that the Public Utilities Division be a self sustaining entity through revenue provided by a uniform schedule of rates, fees and charges; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center did last amend the schedule of sanitary sewer rates, fees and charges by the adoption of Reso- lution No. 72 -203 on December 18, 1972; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center Water and Sewer Ordinance (Chapter Four) was amended effective September 15, 1974: BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the schedule of sanitary sewer rates, fees and charges be adopted in amended form as follows: AMENDED SANITARY SEWER DIVISION RATE SCHEDULE (Effective September 15, 1974) RATES: Quarterlv Rate 1. Residential a. Single family, double bungalows, duplexes and town houses $8.75 /Unit b. Apartments $6.15 /Unit 2. Non Residential a. Water Meter $0.44/1,000 gallons multiplied by the metered water consumption Resolution No. 74 -149 b. All uses without water meter $0.60 /fixture -unit* *Fixture -Unit as defined by City of Minneapolis Plumbing, Water and Gas Piping Ordinances (1959) FEES: 1. Connection Permit $10.00 /Connection 2. Disconnection Permit $10.00 /Disconnection 3. Metropolitan S A r r Unit Equivalent) p Service Availability Charge (Per q 1973 $275.00 1974 $300.00 1975 $325.00 1976 $350.00 1977 $375.00 The number of unit equivalents which are connected or for which a building permit is issued shall be computed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Metropolitan Sewer Board on file in the office of the City Engineer. A summary of the guidelines is as follows: a. Single family, double bungalows, duplexes and town houses 1 .0 unit equivalent b. Apartments and Condominiums .8 unit equivalent C. Non Residential 1 .0/100,000 gallons of estimated flow (with minimum of 1 unit) d. Public and Federal subsidized low and moderate income and housing 75% of unit equivalent e. Units existing with on -site disposal systems, or which building permits were issued prior to January 1 1973, if connected to sanitary sewer system during 1973 50% of unit equivalent (100% after Jan. 1, 1974) L Resolution No. 74 -149 CHARGES: 1. Delinquent Account $1 .00 per quarter per account 2. Preparation for Certification to Taxes of Delinquent Accounts $10.00 per account BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above amended schedule of sanitary sewer rates, fees and charges becomes effective on �eptember 15, 1974.
