HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-150 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -150 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES, FEES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF AND CONNECTION TO THE WATER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, a municipal Public Utilities Division exists for the purpose of providing and maintaining water and sanitary sewer facilities for the citizens of the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the City Charter that the Public Utilities Division be a self sustaining entity through revenue provided by a uniform schedule of rates, fees and charges; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center did last amend the schedule of water rates, fees and charges by the adoption of Resolution No. 69 -268 on August 11, 1969, which amended the rate schedule established by a Council Resolution on March 5, 1962; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center Water and Sewer Ordinance (Chapter 4) was amended effective September 15, 1974: BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the schedule of water rates, fees, and charges be adopted in amended form as follows: AMENDED WATER DIVISION RATE SCHEDULE (Effective September 15, 1974) RATES: 1. Minimum Rates a 5/8 x 3/4 inch meter 4.00 /quarter b. 3/4 inch meter 6.00 /quarter c. 1 inch meter 8.00 /quarter d. 1 -1/2 inch meter 10.00 /quarter e. 2 inch meter 20.00 /quarter f. 3 inch meter 40.00 /quarter g 4 inch meter 68.00 /quarter h. 6 inch meter 156.00 /quarter i. 8 inch meter 264.00 /quarter j 10 inch meter 392.00 /quarter 2. Base Rate 0.35 /Thousand Gallons FEES: 1. Meter Sale Prices a. 5/8 x 3/4 inch meter 35 .00 /meter Resolution No. 74 -150 b. 3/4 inch meter or larger Cost of meter plus $2.00 2. Connection Permit 10.00 /connection 3. Disconnection Permit 10.00 /disconnection 4. Fire Protection a. Fire Sprinkler System 50.00 /year b. Private Fire Hydrants Maintenance Agreement with Public Utilities Division to pay costs as determined by Division work order. CHARGES: 1 Restoration of Service disconnected for non payment of bill a. During normal working hours 5.00 /service restoration b. Other than normal working hours 10.00 /service restoration 2. Delinquent Account 1 .00 /quarter per account 3. Delinquent Meter Reading 0.50 /quarter per account 4. Preparation for Certification to taxes of delinquent accounts 10.00 per account BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above amended schedule of water rates, fees and charges become effective on Sept 1 1974. i September 9, 1974 Date Mayor ATTEST Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
