HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-152 CCR Member Robert Jensen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -152 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FORM (SIDEWALK CONTRACT 1974 -G) WHEREAS, the City Clerk and the City Engineer have reported that on September 5, 1974, at 11 :00 A.M., central daylight time, they opened and tabulated bids received for Contract 1974 -G, in- cluding Alley Paving Improvement Project No. 1974 -20 and Sidewalk Improvement Projects No. 1974 -24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 30, and that said bids were as follows: 1) F. A. Kelly $88,526.91 2) Arnold Beckman, Inc. $96,591.12 3) Victor Carlson Sons, Inc. $101,366.00 and WHEREAS, the Special Provisions of the General Conditions of said contract permit the City to delete Alley Paving Improvement Project No. 1974 -20 from said bids, and to award a contract for the remaining projects to the lowest bidder for said remaining projects; and WHEREAS, the said bids for Sidewalk Improvement Projects No. 1974 -24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 30 were as follows: 1) F. A. Kelly $70,414.41 2) Arnold Beckman, Inc. $81,024.62 3) Victor Carlson Sons, Inc. $85,128.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the bid of F. A. Kelly in the amount of $70,414.41, as to furnishing of all work, labor, and material in connection with the above mentioned Sidewalk Improvement Projects No. 1974 -24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 30, according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the office of the City Clerk, is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract with said bidder. September 9, 1974 Date 17 Mayor ATTEST: lerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
