HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-072 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -72 RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT CERTAIN BUILDING LOCATED AT 707 69TH AVENUE NORTH, BROOKLYN CENTER, MINNESOTA, DILAPIDATED AND ORDERING THEM TO BE REMOVED WHEREAS, Kent Edeburn is the record owner of the property located at 707 69th Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the building located on the above described property was severely burned on April 18, 1974 and that W. J. Dahn, Brooklyn Center Building Inspector, has inspected said property subsequent to the above date and found the structure thereon to be vacated and abandoned and in an extreme state of disrepair; that both the roof and floor of said structure have collapsed; that the basement is full of water and that the property is open to trespassers and children in the area; and that the building is in violation of the Brooklyn Center Building Code; and WHEREAS, the said Building Inspector, upon inspecting the building at the above location, formed the opinion that the building is in such a state of deteriora- tion that it could not be brought up to code standard and that it is a fire, health and safety hazard: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Kent Edeburn, his heirs and assigns, shall be ordered to raze and remove the delapidated structure located at 707 69th Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota on the property legally described as: The west 75 feet of the east 150 feet of Lot 31, Auditor's Subdivision 310, Hennepin County, Minnesota, and that this action is being taken pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 463.15- 463.26 on the grounds that said building is hazardous and within the meaning of that statute; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Kent Edeburn, his heir or assigns, must comply with this order within twenty (20) days from the date of service upon him or within twenty (20) days file an answer thereto, otherwise a motion for summary enforcement of this order will be taken by the City of Brooklyn Center in Hennepin County District Court. April 22, 1974 Date Mayor ATTEST: 3 Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 74 -72 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Bill Fignar, Tony Kuefler, and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
