HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-083 CCR Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -83 RESOLUTION URGING CONTINUATION OF SUBURBAN RATE AUTHORITY WHEREAS, Brooklyn Center has participated in the activities of the Suburban Rate Authority since the inception of the Authority; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Rate Authority has effectively regulated suburban gas rates over the past twelve years; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Rate Authority has the power to levy an annual fee from Minneapolis Gas Company for the purpose of supporting Suburban Rate Authority operating costs and activities; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature during the 1974 session conferred authority to regulate gas rates upon the Minnesota Public Service Commission: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to urge the continuation of the Suburban Rate Authority for an indefinite period during and after transition of regulatory authority to the Minnesota Public Service Commission and to urge that the Suburban Rate Authority levy, as needed, its annual charge upon the Minneapolis Gas Company for the purpose of supporting operating costs during the transition period. Mav 20, 1974 f Date v Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
