HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-086 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -86 RESOLUTION :,REQUESTING A CHANGE IN THE MTC BUS ROUTE TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF SHINGLE CREEK TOWER WHEREAS, the MTC provides bus service to its customers in the vicinity of Shingle Creek Tower in the early morning and late afternoon; and WHEREAS, said service is provided by traveling north on Shingle Creek Parkway to John Martin Drive, on John Martin Drive to Earle Brown Drive, and on Earle Brown Drive to the Earle Brown Office Building, and the reverse thereof; and WHEREAS, the demographic characteristics of the residents of Shingle Creek Tower warrants the implementation of regular bus service to that facility; and WHEREAS, the parking lot of Shingle Creek Tower was designed to accommodate on -site pickup; and WHEREAS, there is a justifiable need to provide continuous service to the residents of Shingle Creek Tower throughout the day: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to request the MTC to initiate immediate service to the residents of Shingle Creek Tower by deleting that portion of travel on John Martin Drive and Earle Brown Drive, from John Martin Drive to Summit Drive, and implementing a new route, north on Shingle Creek Parkway to Summit Drive and on Summit Drive to Earle Brown Drive, and on Earle Brown Drive to the Earle Brown Office Building, or the reverse thereof: and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to urge the imp of on -site pickup and continuous service throughout the day. i May 20, 1974 Date Mayor ATTEST: aff ler The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
