moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 74 -94
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CERTAIN HOSPITAL MEDICAL
INSURANCE COSTS
I
WHEREAS, employer participation in the cost of group hospital- medical
insurance premiums for employees and eligible dependents is a common and
accepted form of fringe benefit compensation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center as an employer is committed to
contributing to the cost of such group insurance premiums as fringe benefit
compensation on behalf of members of the bargaining units represented by
Local No. 49, International Union of Operating Engineers, and members of the
Brooklyn Center Police Association; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 73 -65 authorizing
effective May 1, 1973 payment of an amount not to exceed $12 per month toward
the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center group hospital- medical insurance
plan for permanent full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not
sworn police personnel and who are not members of the bargaining unit represented
by Local No. 49, International Union of Operating Engineers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council during 1974 is committed to contributing
increased amounts toward the cost of group hospital- medical insurance premiums
for employees (and eligible dependents) who are members of recognized bargaining
units; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends increase in the City contribution
toward the cost of group hospital medical insurance premiums for permanent full
time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized
bargaining units:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center to authorize effective August 1, 1974 payment of an amount not to
exceed 22 per month toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center group
hospital medical insurance plan as fringe benefit compensation for permanent
full -time employees (and eligible dependents) who are not members of recognized
bargaining units.

Resolution No. 74 -94
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize retroactively from January 1, 1974
to August 1, 1974 an increase in payment from $9.34 per month to $12 per month
toward the cost of coverage under the Brooklyn Center group hospital- medical
insurance plan as a fringe benefit compensation for sworn police personnel who
are not members of the recognized Brooklyn Center Police Association bargaining
unit.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Robert Jensen and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts Tony Kuefler,
Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
