HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-015 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -15 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF MR. TORN LEARY WHEREAS, Mr. John Leary served as a Village and City Councilman from January 1, 1962 through December 31, 1973; and WHEREAS, he served as Mayor Pro Tem for the City Council from January 1 1973 through December 31, 1973; and WHEREAS, he served as a representative to the Suburban Sanitary Sewer Commission from January 1, 1965 through December 31, 1971; and WHEREAS, he served as a representative to the Suburban Rate Authority from January 1, 1967 through December 31, 1 973; and WHEREAS, he was a member of the Metro Transit Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, he served on numerous committees and task groups orientated toward the betterment of local government and improved service for its citizens; and WHEREAS, his devotion to the tasks and responsibilities of this office have contributed substantially to the sound progress and development of this city; and WHEREAS, his public service and civic efforts for the betterment of the community and the region merit the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that: The dedicated public service of Mr. John Leary as a Village and City Councilman, Mayor Pro Tem of the City Council, and contribution to numerous civic and governmental endeavors is recognized and sincerely appreciated by the City of Brooklyn Center. January 21 1974 Date a Mayor ATTEST: 4 Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 74 -15 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Fignar and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Bill Fignar, Tony Kuefler and Robert Jensen; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. i I
