HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-020 CCR Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74 -20 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT EMBODIED IN SENATE FILE NO. 2596 REQUIRING LICENSING OF PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council supports the concept that private security guards should meet certain qualification and training standards reasonably related to the providing of security: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: I. The City Council supports the concept embodied in Senate File No. 2596 which would require the establishment of minimum qualification standards and the licensing of security guards. 2. The legislative representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center are herewith called upon to support such legislation and the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the aforementioned legislators, the chairman of appropriate legislative committees, and to the Governor of the State of Minnesota.
