HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-136 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73 -136 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1973 GENERAL FUND BUDGET WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center did appropriate the sum of $1,892 for the League of Minnesota Municipalities 1973/74 annual membership dues and the sum of $1,262 for the Metropolitan Section, League of Minnesota Municipalities 1973/74 annual membership dues; and WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Municipalities at its annual convention did approve a substantial dues increase to support the current level of services and programs of the League; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Section, League of Minnesota Municipalities did also approve a substantial dues increase to increase its current level of services and programs; and WHEREAS, the membership dues increases of said Leagues are $2,667 and $1, 154 respectively; and WHEREAS, the City Council is in agreement with the goals of the League of Minnesota Municipalities and the Metropolitan Section and does support the dues increases; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that an appropriation of $3, 821 be transferred from the Mayor and Council's Contingency Account (Account No. 401 -48) to the Mayor and Council's Subscriptions and Memberships Account (Account No. 401 -43) to provide for the increase in membership dues 'fi 6 137 3 Date Mayor ATTEST: 1eril Resolution No.73 -136 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Maurice Britts, Bill Fignar, and Tony Kuefler; and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
