its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.?1 -ice
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1973 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center
does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget
and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any
other appropriation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on March 29, 1971 the Brooklyn Center City Council adopted
Resolution No. 71 -59 declaring its willingness to enter into a Joint Powers Agree-
ment with other communities in the Shingle Creek Watershed for the purpose of
authorizing studies of the lakes and streams therein; and
WHEREAS, on November 22, 1971, the Brooklyn Center City Council did
authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute an agreement entitled "A Joint
Agreement for Shingle Creek Drainage Area Study and
WHEREAS, said agreement did authorize the expenditure of funds by the
City of Brooklyn Center to pay its share of the costs of the study in an amount
not to exceed $2,300; and
WHEREAS, the costs of the study are as follows:
Total Cost $36,500.00
Less funds received from State Grant 18,250.00
Less fund received from Twin Lakes
As sociation 4,971.58
Net Cost $13,278.42; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn Center's share of the net cost is $2,213.07:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that an appropriation of $2,214 be transferred from the Mayor
and Council's Contingency Account (Account No. 401 -48) to the Mayor and
Council's Professional and Consultant's Fees Account (Account No. 401 -13) to
provide for Brooklyn Center's share of the study costs.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Bill Fignar, and
Tony Kuefler;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
