HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-171 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION N0.73 -171 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1973 GENERAL FUND BUDGET WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center does provide for the increase of a budget appropriation by the City Council if the actual receipts exceed the estimates; and WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General Fund Budget and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and WHEREAS, on August 20, 1973 the City Council did authorize the City Manager to purchase up to two portable "moving" radar units for police vehicles if matching funds were available; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the two units is $4,151.50; and WHEREAS, a federal grant has been approved in the amount of $2,075.75: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the appropriation for Police Protection Furniture and Equipment (Account No. 411-52) be increased by $4,152 to provide for the acquisition of the radar units; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation of $2,076 be transferred from the Mayor and Council's Contingency Account (Account No. 401 -48) to be used along with the federal grant to fin ance tVe ropriatio October 15 1973 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Bill Fignar, and Tony Kuefler; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
