and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 73 -188
RESOLUTION REQUESTING HENNEPIN COUNTY TO CONTINUE
JOINT EXERCISE OF POWER FOR THE PURCHASING OF DIESEL
FUEL OIL, HEATING FUEL, AND GASOLINE.
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has in the past exercised its
joint powers authorization as provided by the provisions of Minnesota
Statutes 1965, Section 471 .59, and has intended to continue this joint
exercise of powers in 1974, specifically as it concerns the joint purchase
of diesel fuel oil, heating fuel, and gasoline; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has on two separate occasions solicited
bids for these products; and
WHEREAS, on both occasions no bids were received for such require-
ments except for a small amount of diesel fuel and heating oil, which
leaves the County of Hennepin and Instrumentalities for which it is pur-
chasing without any contractural commitment for the year 1974;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the City of Brooklyn Center
requests of Hennepin County to continue this joint exercise of power and
have the Hennepin County Director of Purchasing and Stores enter into any
contract or contracts or to acquire through emergency purchase requirements
for diesel fuel oil, heating fuel, and gasoline for the City of Brooklyn Center
subject to subsequent ramification by the Hennepin County Board of
Commissioners under Minnesota Statute 1971, 375..22.
