HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-199 CCR Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73 -199 RESOLUTION DECLARING THOSE CERTAIN BUILDINGS LOCATED AT 5311 IRVING AVENUE NORTH, BROOKLYN CENTER, MINNESOTA, DILAPIDATED AND ORDERING THEM TO BE REMOVED WHEREAS, Katie Raske is the record owner of the property located at 5311 Irving Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, Mike Broms may have an interest in such property; and WHEREAS, W. S. Dahn, Brooklyn Center Building Inspector, after receiving numerous complaints, inspected the above property on August 30, 1973, and found that the house thereon was vacated and abandoned in an extreme state of disrepair; that the window glass was broken and scattered about the property and that it was open to trespassers and children in the area; that there is litter, refuse and animal waste scattered throughout; that the garage rafters are bowed and the garage door hinges are broken; and that the buildings are in violation of the Brooklyn Center Building Code; and WHEREAS, the said Building Inspector, upon inspecting the buildings at the above location, formed the opinion that the buildings are in such a state of deterioration that they could not be brought up to code standard and that they are a fire, health and safety hazard: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Katie Raske and/or Mike Br oms their heirs and assigns, shall be ordered to raze and remove the dilapidated structures located at 5311 Irving Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, on the property legally described as: Lots 2 and 3, Block 2, "Humboldt Addition", Hennepin County, Minnesota. and that this action is being taken pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 463.15 463.26 on the grounds that said buildings are hazardous and within the meaning of that statute; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Katie Raske, and /or Mike Broms their heirs or assigns, must comply with this order within twenty (20) days from the date of service upon them or within twenty (20) days file an answer thereto, otherwise a motion for summary enforcement of this order will be taken by the City of Brooklyn Center in the Hennepin County District Court.
