Grade advances within Council authorized limits shall be at the discretion of the City Manager. Merit steps shall only be awarded with express approval of the City Council. Intervals: Grades 1 through 21 equals 2 1/2 Grades 21 through 25 equals 5 Steps A through E equals approximately 5 PART III: LIQUOR STORES (Hourly Rates) Steps A B C D Clerk- stockers, Part -time 2.33 2.53 2.79 2.90 Cashiers, Part -time 2.18 2.38 2.64 2.75 Normal Proqression: A is starting salary, succeeding steps represent six month intervals. Notwithstanding the progression shown in all parts of the Position Classifica- tion Plan which represents typical advancement, the City Manager is authorized to hire and advance within the maximum limitation set for a position as the situation warrants. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be authorized to employ such part -time and seasonal help as may be necessary, and to establish competitive rates of pay for such help consistent with the 1974 budget appropriations; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the salary adjustments not to exceed the maximums contained herein, shall become effective January 1, 1974; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council in recognition that certain salary rates have not yet been successfully negotiated in the Departments of Police, Parks and Recreation and Public Works, has extended 1972 and 1973 salary rates for related job classifications subject to appropriate amend n ntract sett ement.
