RESOLUTION NO. 72 -152
introduced the following
RESOLUTION COMMENDING OFFICER DONALD SOLLARS
OF THE BROOKLYN CENTER POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the growing complexities of
law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council had demonstrated its endorsement of programs
designed to upgrade the educational training levels of all City employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has instituted an employee training
program and a Police Department College Incentive Program; and
WHEREAS, Officer Donald Sollars has had the foresight, determination
and ability to utilize his own initiative and these programs in the achieve-
ment of a degree from the University of Minnesota:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, to publicly commend Officer Donald Sollars
for the achievement of a Bachelor of Science from t University of Minnesota
on June 15, 1972.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen,
Howard Heck and Maurice Britts;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was decla red duly passed and adopted.
