and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 73 -17
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED
PUBLIC SERVICE OF MR. HOWARD HECK
WHEREAS, Mr. Howard Heck served as a Village and City Councilman
from January 1, 1961 through December 31, 1972; and
WHEREAS, he served as Mayor Pro -tem for the City Council from January 1,
1963 through December 31, 1972; and
WHEREAS, he served as a representative to the Hennepin County League
of Municipalities from January 1, 1962 through December 31, 1969; and
WHEREAS, he served as a representative to the Metropolitan League of
Municipalities from January 1, 1970 through December 31, 1972; and
WHEREAS, he was a member of the Hockey Study Committee in 1971; and
WHEREAS, he served on numerous committees and task groups oriented
toward the betterment of local government and improved service for its citizens;
and
WHEREAS, his devotion to the tasks and responsibilities of these offices
contributed substantially to the sound progress and development of this City; and
WHEREAS, his public service and civic efforts for the betterment of the
community and region merit the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the dedicated public service of Howard Heck as a Village
and City Councilman, Mayor Pro -tem of the City Council and tireless contributor
to numerous civic and governmental endeavors is recognized and sincerely
appreciated by the City of Brooklyn Center.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts,
Tony Kuefler, and Bill Fignar;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
